Writing Rant: I want to be an Actor!   Leave a comment

Lately I have been thinking:Why do actors and athletes get paid so much? Writers work just as hard, if not harder, and have a much higher rate of failure. Especially the actors. Everyone knows there names what movies they’ve been in, who they’re dating, etc. etc. etc. But in the end they wouldn’t be where they are now if it wasn’t for writers. Sure it can be difficult to get into character. But they are getting into one or two character’s heads per movie. A writer does the same job as an actor, only instead of one or two characters it is all of them. Instead of reading a line or two off a page, we are improvising and writing, and then re-writing. The actors don’t have to come up with a plot. I can’t help but to think writers are getting cheated somehow. It’s like the screenwriters are the first mouse who snaps the trap, and the actors get the cheese. END RANT.
